Mocha Mondays

It was kinda rainy the other day when Joel and I stopped in to get some mochas at the Latteland downtown. I recently have been busy starting a bicycle delivery company for Kansas City, called Cowtown Couriers LLC. I almost have the website up, and business cards are on the way.

Riding Home

With all the rain we've had lately, I've been missing the sunny days of summer. I took some photos at the end of September while riding home from midtown while the sun was setting. Check them out below!

Bike Racks at Miller Nichols Library

Last semester in the spring of this year, I spent a lot of time at the Miller Nichols Library at UMKC and hated the bike rack situation. There was one awkward bike rack on the grass that offered no security if you had a really nice bike. Like others, I ended up locking up my bike to the hand rail by the door. However, last week when I was with Dustin at the library, I saw these new bike racks out front. I was surprised that, as soon as I stop going there, they install some real racks. I'm glad they did though; it's a step in the right direction.

Mocha Mondays

Today I decided to switch things up a bit and write about my preferred method of home brewed coffee: the Moka Pot. Also known as "stovetop espresso", this coffee brewing method was first developed by Bialetti, an Italian kitchenware company, in 1933. The Moka Pot is an important part of the Italian coffee experience. Click below to see how it works!

Going Full Frame

After much consideration, I have finally sold off my digital SLR and will just being using film cameras for my photography. This wasn't an easy choice, especially considering how convenient using a digital camera has been for me. I learned how a camera works from trial and error on my Canon EOS 20D, and was able to learn from my mistakes.

Mocha Mondays

Hi Hat Coffee is a neat little shop at 50th and Stateline that feels like a little cottage. It's pretty popular due to it's unique size, and has even be featured in a book about Kansas City coffee shops. I stopped by the cafe for a little bit with Dustin and Sara. Check out more below!

Winter Biking Tips: My Winterized Masi

This year will be my third winter biking in Kansas City, MO. The first year I had an old Miyata hard tail mountain bike that got me through the snow alright, with only of couple of falls. Back then I just had platform pedals and some burlap TOMS shoes that kept getting soaked and my feet were always freezing; good thing I have my Candy C's now! Check out more below!

Sailboat Cove

I spent this past Thanksgiving at my parents house in Smithville, MO. I don't get to visit them often, so it was nice to get out of the city for a day and enjoy some outdoor fun. I even got to ride my bike on the W Highway trails and burn some calories before dinner. While I was riding around, I brought my camera and took a few photos by the lake. Check them out below!
